I'm getting a lot of requests for the BOM & PCB, so here they are. I'm also posting this in the forum.

  1. HI Willis,

This is awesome, I'm quite a newby with projects like this, but I see there are a lot of people like me. Do you maybe have a step-by-step tutorial available?

    Thanks!

    1. Well the whole thing is pretty straight forward: you'll need to get the PCBs from OSHPark (usually takes about 14 business days in US), get the parts from Mouser (about 5-10 business days in US), then have a lot of patience soldering everything together and then as a last step you'll need to upload the latest version of the code posted on the forum.

From my experience - soldering is the hardest part if you haven't done that before. It took me a couple of attempts and sleepless nights, but eventually I was able to solder a module myself. Now it's much easier.

    2. Cool, I've ordered three of the PCB's and will order the other parts from Mouser later this week. I'll open up a topic on the forum when I run into issues once I received the parts.

      Thanks for making this! :)

  2. Hi Willis,

Been following your blog and the project for a while. Myself being an Arduino and PIC enthusiast I wanted to congratulate you for the great job. I just ordered the parts and am looking forwards to get my hands on it!

    Best,
    Bobby

  3. Hi guys!

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to split a circuit board order with me. It seems like kind of a waste to order 3 of them! I'd be happy to order it and ship them to you, or if you want to order and then send it to me I'd be happy to do that too.

    1. Or if anyone wanted to put any of their extras up on eBay that would be awesome too!

    2. I'm sure some other people will be willing to split/ship a pcb order with you. The problem is that this board is so small, most board houses only like to do large orders. So OSHPark gets away with small orders by requiring a minimum order of 3; my other board house, DFRobot, has a minimum order of 10pcs, but they are even cheaper. So even if you get a few more copies than you "need", a few extras aren't bad to have to practice soldering on, or to make extra modules for friends, etc...

    3. Hi Christian, Where are you from? If I manage to get it right in the first two attempts I've got one spare. But if you're not close to me it's probably just cheaper and a lot faster to order three with the standard shipping from OSH Park.

    4. I decided to go it alone. It'll be nice to have a couple of boards to mess up on.

    5. Saabstutz, Are you still interested in selling one of those boards?

    6. No I decided against it. I thought it would be best if I could have a few tries, especially since I'm new to soldiering.
